WHY?   Design occupies a unique space between art and science by Terence Conran, 1931-, British designer Türk Ordusu'nun Üniformaları Chanel'den Atatürk Coco Chanel'den TSK için kıyafet tasarlamasını istemiş. Coco Chanel ile aynı ortamlarda buluşmuşluğu olan modacı Vural Gökçaylı, verdiği röportajda Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri'nde 1945 yılına kadar Chanel tasarımlarının giyildiğini açıkladı. Vural'ın iddiasına göre; Chanel'in moda anlayışı ve dünyayı saran ünü Atatürk'ün de ilgisini çekmiş ve Atatürk 1930'larda Coco Chanel'den TSK için kıyafet tasarlamasını rica etmiş.
